Don't use Indeed
This is a short one. I went through another round of hiring someone and had a nightmare of a time on Indeed.
The job posting had a required location very clearly identified and yet many people not in that location applied. I could see in the profile of many applicants they are not in that location - and Indeed still let them apply. I'm not talking about just a few - literally 1000+ applicants not in the location required by the posting.
Even worse is there's no way to flag these profiles to prevent them from doing it to other people. Indeed support's response was: just hide them from your posting. So rather than give employers better tools to eject dishonest and spammy candidates - they make employers do even more work to wade through bad applications. This gives employers less time to actually interview candidates, and causes legitimate candidates to be less likely to get an interview. Worst of all - the employers are the ones paying for listings and being asked to do more work.
I'm sure that a majority of the 1000+ people who applied to my listing did the same to many other employers.
Until Indeed gives employers better tools to deal with this and eject bad candidates from the platform - I cannot recommend using Indeed.
